Boeing to Begin Testing of Experimental Rocket Engine

ST. LOUIS, Nov. 18, 2004 -- A new experimental rocket engine, referred to as the Integrated Powerhead Demonstration, or IPD, has been installed in a test stand at the Stennis Space Center in Mississippi. Following final preparations, hot-fire testing of the 250,000-pound-thrust engine will begin in early 2005.
