Boeing delivers first 737-800 to WestJet
SEATTLE, April 11, 2005 -- Boeing and WestJet, a leading Canadian low-fare airline, celebrated the delivery of the airline's first 737-800 this past Friday. The 737-800, configured for 166 passengers, is the largest airplane in WestJet's fleet and will be used on the airline's longer-range routes. During 2005, the airline will acquire five 737-800s, seven 737-700s and three 737-600s. WestJet has also exercised options for an additional three 737-600s for delivery in 2006.
