Boeing delivers the final 757
SEATTLE, April 28, 2005 -- Boeing [NYSE:BA] delivered the final production model of the Boeing 757-200 to Shanghai Airlines yesterday. The airplane is the 1,050th built in the Renton, Wash., factory. The 757 fleet worldwide has flown more than 35 million hours, and more than 1,030 757 airplanes are still in service today. Boeing in late 2003 decided to end 757 production because the increased capabilities of the newest 737s and the new 787 fulfill the 757 market's needs.
