First 747-400 Boeing Converted Freighter Redelivered to Cathay Pacific
SEATTLE, Dec. 19, 2005 -- Boeing handed over to Cathay Pacific Airways the first 747-400 passenger airplane to be converted to a freighter through the Boeing Converted Freighter program at a ceremony in Xiamen, People's Republic of China.
The first 747-400 Boeing Converted Freighter received a special livery to commemorate the prototype conversion. The airplane will enter service Dec. 21 on a flight to Penang, Malaysia, and will operate on routes to Europe and North America.
