Boeing ScanEagle Demonstrates New Maritime Capabilities
ST. LOUIS, May 17, 2006 -- The Boeing/Insitu ScanEagle unmanned aerial vehicle sits on its launcher in preparation for an autonomous take off from a UK warship. Participating in the UK Ministry of Defence's "Trial Vigilant Viper" off the coast of Scotland, ScanEagle demonstrated maritime capabilities and conducted surveillance, reconnaissance, force protection, maritime interdiction and naval gunfire support.
