Virgin Blue Orders Additional Boeing Next-Generation 737s

SEATTLE, June 12, 2006 -- Australia's Virgin Blue Airlines has ordered nine additional Boeing 737-800s, which will replace leased airplanes in its fleet. Virgin, an all-Boeing operator, currently operates 52 Next-Generation 737s on a route network stretching from Darwin in northern Australia to Perth in the West and Hobart in the South, and includes high-frequency East Coast services between Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
