FARNBOROUGH, England, July 17, 2006 -- Test System 3, an Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) test aircraft upgraded under the Block 40/45 program, takes off from Boeing Field in Seattle, Wash., July 15 on a successful first flight. Block 40/45 is the largest enhancement in the history of the U.S. Air Force's AWACS fleet.
