CHICAGO, Nov. 13, 2006 -- The Boeing Company (NYSE: BA) today named Nicole Piasecki vice president of Boeing International and president of Boeing Japan. Based in Tokyo, Piasecki will be responsible for developing and strengthening Boeing's presence and partnerships in Japan. She will report to Laurette Koellner, president, Boeing International.
Piasecki's appointment is effective in March 2007. She succeeds Robert "Skipp" Orr, who has announced his retirement after leading Boeing's wide-ranging business activities in Japan for five years.
Boeing is the leading provider of commercial jetliners to Japanese airlines and a major supplier of military equipment and aircraft to the Japanese Defense Agency. Additionally, the company is a significant customer and partner of Japanese industry.

"Japan is home to very important Boeing customers, and our partnership with the Japanese aerospace companies is a model for the industry. Nicole will focus on continuing to strengthen Boeing's partnership with Japan and will drive the expansion of our in-country business and government relations activities for the entire Boeing enterprise."
Koellner said, "Nicole's educational and professional background and accomplishments prepare her well for this position. She will strengthen the Boeing team in Japan and lead the company's effort to pursue new growth and productivity initiatives. Piasecki, 44, joins Boeing International from Boeing Commercial Airplanes, where she was vice president of Business Strategy and Marketing. In this role, she was responsible for leading strategic business planning and marketing for the organization's products and services. Prior to this position, Piasecki served as vice president of Sales for leasing companies worldwide and director of Sales Operations. She also has sales experience working with Canadian carriers. Piasecki joined Boeing in 1991 as a customer engineer in the 777 Division.
Her previous career experience includes working for Piasecki Aircraft Corporation; Cresap, a Towers Perrin Company; Weyerhaeuser Japan, Ltd.; and United Technologies, Sikorsky Aircraft Division.
Piasecki is a member of the board of directors of the Weyerhaeuser Company and serves on the (U.S.) Federal Aviation Administration's Management Advisory Council.
She has a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Yale and a master's degree in business administration from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Piasecki also has done additional course work at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Keio University Business School in Japan.
