CHICAGO, Dec. 09, 2006 -- Boeing [NYSE: BA] Chairman, President and CEO Jim McNerney today commented on the U.S. Congress approving permanent normal trade relations (PNTR) status for Vietnam.
McNerney said, "The congressional approval of permanent normal trade relations with Vietnam is a critical step that now enables the U.S. to benefit from Vietnam's imminent accession to the World Trade Organization. It establishes a foundation of cooperation and understanding between the countries, which will help ensure economic growth for both nations.
"The Boeing Company commends the administration for negotiating the bilateral agreement over the last few years. We also applaud members of Congress for implementing PNTR with their vote."
