ST. LOUIS, Dec. 20, 2007 -- Boeing has been awarded a $695 million NASA contract for two Tracking and Data Relay Satellites (TDRS) that will provide essential communication services to the space shuttle and other orbiting spacecraft. The contract, worth up to $1.2 billion with all exercised options, includes the design and manufacture of the TDRS K and L satellites as well as upgrades to NASA's TDRS system ground terminals. The satellites will be ready for launch in 2012 and 2013, respectively.
