GENERATION U.S. AIR FORCE GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM SATELLITE
Launch of a McDonnell Douglas
Delta II rocket carrying a NAVSTAR Block IIR spacecraft, the first
of a new generation of U.S. Air Force Global Positioning System
satellites, is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 17. The launch window
will open at 11:28 a.m. and close at 11:58 a.m. EST.
There will be satellite coverage of the launch Friday from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. EST, on GALAXY 9, Transponder 22H. GALAXY 9 coordinates: 123 degrees west longitude; uplink frequency,
6365 vertical; downlink frequency,
4140 horizontal, 36 MHz.
