Today's launch of a McDonnell Douglas
Delta II carrying three Iridium system satellites was postponed
due to a problem encountered during the launch countdown. The
problem involves the loss of a vital data microwave link to range
instrumentation. The Air Force is working to correct the problem.
The launch has been rescheduled for Jan. 10, with the launch window being 5:35 a.m. to 6:23 a.m. PST.

Those interested in taking photos of the launch vehicle on the pad should contact the Air Force Public Affairs Office at Vandenberg for escort reservations. Media with prior reservations are asked to assemble at the Visitor Control station at the main gate at 8:15 p.m. for escort to the launch site.
Media wishing to cover the launch are asked to meet Jan. 10 at the Visitor Control station at the main gate of Vandenberg Air Force Base at 4:15 a.m. PST to caravan to Space Launch Complex 2.
Two hours after liftoff, following launch and spacecraft separation, there will be a post-launch media briefing at Vandenberg Center. Representatives from McDonnell Douglas, Motorola and Iridium will be present.
