U.S. AIR FORCE TO DEDICATE MCDONNELL DOUGLAS C-17 TO BOB HOPE

The U.S. Air Force will dedicate a C-17 Globemaster III airplane to entertainer Bob Hope on April 22 at McDonnell Douglas' (NYSE: MD) Long Beach, Calif., facility. In attendance, along with Bob and Dolores Hope, will be the Air Force, McDonnell Douglas employees and other Hollywood dignitaries.

The event begins at 1 p.m. PDT and concludes by 2 p.m. PDT. News media desiring to cover the event should contact McDonnell Douglas Communications at (562) 496-8515. Media should call before 5 p.m. PDT Friday, April 18, to make arrangements.

Television satellite vans must arrive not later than noon Tuesday, April 22, to guarantee set-up time in the press area. Other media should arrive by 12:30 p.m. PDT.

The event will be outside the C-17 assembly building, 2401 East Wardlow Road, Long Beach, just off Cherry Avenue.

The event will also be carried live by a satellite television feed on two sites -- C band, GE 2, transponder 6, and Ku Band, SBS 6 (12:45 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. PDT)
