Airborne Laser is Shown at Offutt AFB Open House

Technical Sgt. Samuel Arredondo uses a model of the Airborne Laser to explain to visitors how this future weapon system uses a laser to lock onto and destroy theater ballistic missiles from hundreds of miles away. Sgt Arredondo and other members of the Airborne Laser Systems Program Office at Kirtland AFB, N.M., were at Offutt to showcase the revolutionary aircraft. The Airborne Laser exhibit appeared in a large tent that also featured a variety of technology displays from throughout the Air Force Research Laboratory. An estimated 350,000 people attended the recent two-day open house.
