As the vessels approach the launch site at the equator, they meet at sea.    

Helo operations begin, permitting our photographer to capture these beautiful images of the vessels, slicing through the calm seas under clear sunny skies.

The vessels enter the inter-tropical convergence zone , where currents meet in the equatorial waters.
