As the Sea Launch Commander eases out of port, members of the launch team wave back to those remaining on the pier, getting a last look at Home Port.

Meteorologists Mike Patnoe and Matt Grzych, and Sherry Berner, director of Communications, Range and Telemetry, watch as the lines are cast off.

First activity of the day is safety training. Evacuation drills give everyone the opportunity to meet.

Mila Pavek, manager of Security, and Larry Hutchinson, radar technician, join forces during the drill.

As with all activities on the ship, instructions for the drill are presented in English and Russian. Everyone becomes an expert in emergency procedures.
