Engineering Power and Grace

I remember as a student I was sifting through car parts at an auto salvage yard just south of Boeing King County Field. Suddenly the sky darkened as the behemoth hulk of a 747 flew overhead and landed. I was astounded by the immensity of the aircraft, surprised at the detail I could see as it passed above me, and I marveled that such a machinery could actually fly -- and so gracefully. (It made little noise as it suddenly appeared above me.)

Many years later, as I celebrate 35 years with Boeing, I am grateful to be part of the legacy that creates such graceful and powerful engineering, and often reflect on how our products amaze others.
