Mapping Out a Dream

My passion for airplanes started early. You can see the photo of me as a 1-year-old, playing with a model Boeing 727.

One day, when I was about 9 years old (1981), I found a magazine that stated where the Boeing factory is located in Washington state. I was looking for this place on a map and saw how far it was from my hometown, Brasilia-DF, Brazil (more than 6,300 miles), but I set in my mind the goal that one day I would go to the factory.

In December 2001, 20 years later, my dream came true. I was in Everett, Wash., and, of course, I attended the Boeing tour. I cannot describe how I happy I was, and I remembered that when I was a child, I thought it was impossible to achieve my dream. After my first visit, I repeated -- just four more times.

Me and Boeing moments.
