Fast Track to the Future

I am a United States Navy sailor. I'm 19 years old and I work on F/A-18E/F Super Hornets. I joined the Navy at 17 because I wanted an introduction to the aviation community. And I knew the military was the best way to do that.

From the day I signed on the dotted line, I've had my eyes on a single goal. And that is to be a jet engine mechanic. I took automotive class in high school for four years. It was what first got me into the maintenance field. But I knew I wanted to do more than just fix cars.

In my town, we always had jets flying overhead every couple of hours because we lived near an Air Force base. I've always loved the sound of airplanes. My buddies and I would call it the sound of freedom, haha. That's what sparked my interest into the aviation field. The idea of a giant piece of a metal going faster than the speed of's mind blowing. And I'm so glad I'm a part of this industry.

I look forward to what the future holds for me. I know this is just the start of my aviation journey. And I look forward to seeing where it takes me.
