Malaysia Airlines receives its first 737 Boeing Sky Interior

Malaysia Airlines is one of the first airlines to take delivery of the new, passenger-inspired Boeing Sky Interior, and to offer the improved travel experience of the interior to passengers in Asia Pacific.

Delivery of the airline's initial Next-Generation 737 with the Boeing Sky Interior took place 29 October. The new interior feels roomier, and ceilings appear higher and feature lighting to match phases of flight for better ambience.

Passengers in Malaysia Airlines business and economy class will enjoy an inflight entertainment system which offers audio and video on demand.

Chairman, Tan Sri Dr Munir Majid said, "Malaysia Airlines is proud to announce that we will be the first full-service airline in the world to operate the 737-800 with the new Boeing Sky Interior. We have two flights scheduled on Monday, 15 November 2010; an inaugural flight from Kuala Lumpur to Kota Kinabalu followed by the commercial flight from Kota Kinabalu to Haneda, Tokyo."

The national carrier of Malaysia, Malaysia Airlines operates scheduled services to more than 100 destinations in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, South Africa and the USA. An extensive domestic network and charter services are also operated.
