Based on employee feedback and building on the success of a similar program at other Boeing sites, Boeing Commercial Airplanes widebody manufacturing plant in Everett, Washington, has opened two Onsite Dental locations.
Starting in February, employees are able to take advantage of the provider’s full range of services. Housed in mobile units, Onsite Dental provides a full-service dental facility, featuring nearly all of the services provided at a brick-and-mortar location. More than 300 dental appointments have been scheduled so far.
“The health and well-being of our employees is our top priority,” said Lance Ball director of Everett Site Operations. “The need for convenient access to quality dental care was clearly communicated by our teammates and I hope the steps we are taking will put a smile on their faces.”
Onsite Dental, a national provider of onsite dental services for 22 years, has been providing services to Boeing South Carolina employees since March 2018. In its first year of service, more than 1,300 dental appointments were completed. “Two out of every three teammates who used the resource did not have a dental claim in the last 18 months, which reinforced the need for convenient service,” said Jeff White, director of Global Health and Well Being.
“In addition to the scheduling convenience, good dental hygiene has correlations with numerous health benefits and we look forward to rolling this out across Everett,” said Ern Blackwelder, CEO of Onsite Dental.
Other Boeing sites are being considered as potential Onsite Dental locations as well.
“We continue to look for opportunities to evolve Boeing’s Total Rewards programs to respond to employees’ needs and will keep a close watch on Everett and Boeing South Carolina to determine if Onsite Dental will be expanded to other locations in the future,” added White.
