The Special Olympics USA Games are coming to Seattle this July, and Boeing is on board to support the athletes and ensure the games are a success.

The USA Games showcase the abilities of more than 3,000 athletes, with a goal of not only highlighting their tremendous abilities, but also to change behaviors, perceptions and attitudes towards people with intellectual disabilities.

March 23 marks the 100 day countdown to the USA Games, which is being kicked off with a social media campaign titled: “Are You Ready to #RiseWithUs?” showcasing how partners, including Boeing, are gearing up for the Games.

“Having the USA Games in Seattle this year is a great opportunity for Boeing and our employees to show our commitment to the community,” said Bill McSherry, Vice President of Government Operations at Boeing Commercial Airplanes. “We are proud to be a part of this fantastic event.”

Boeing promised robust support, and has already signed up more than 500 employees to volunteer for roles ranging from athlete greeters to support services and logistics assistance. Athletes will be competing in more than a dozen sports including basketball, swimming, gymnastics, soccer and power lifting.
