Boeing employees make the holiday season brighter

New giving record helps neighbors in need across the state

By marching in a toy drive parade, volunteering some time to a local nonprofit or through the click of a mouse to give electronically, thousands of Boeing employees got in the spirit of the holiday season while raising a record amount for local charities.

All told, Boeing employees donated more than $350,000 with Boeing providing an additional $90,000 in matching funds to support 317 families, 918 seniors and ensure 15,000 needy children woke up Christmas morning with presents under the tree.

“Part of the reason why I’ve worked at Boeing for 32 years is because of the way Boeing gives back to the local community so consistently,” said Matt West, 737 P-8 Program Manager.

Boeing partnered with a range of local nonprofits, from Treehouse to Goodwill to Mercy Housing to bring joy, happiness and warmth to our neighbors in need across the Puget Sound region.

“Our nonprofit partners tell us that Boeing employees’ generosity benefits their clients well beyond the holidays,” said Sam Whiting, Director of Boeing Global Engagement for BCA. “We’re thrilled at the success of the drive, but also know the need exists year-round and are committed to staying engaged.”
