Sherry Carbary was named president of Boeing China in February 2019. She serves as Boeing’s senior in-country executive in China, in charge of leading companywide activities and government affairs, implementing Boeing’s China strategy, strengthening new business and industrial partnerships, supporting community engagement projects and expanding Boeing relationships with stakeholders. She reports to Michael Arthur, president of Boeing Global.

Prior to this appointment, Carbary served as vice president and program manager for the Boeing 2nd Century Human Resources initiative. She was also responsible for technology integration, functional excellence and change management across the Human Resources function.

Previously, she served as president of Flight Services for Boeing Commercial Airplanes Commercial Aviation Services (now part of Boeing Global Services) and led nearly 5,000 employees across 15 training campuses on six continents. In this role, Carbary was responsible for overseeing the organization’s global operations including flight crew, maintenance and cabin safety training; simulator services; flight operations; flight optimization services; and air traffic management as well as navigation and crew operations services for the aviation and marine markets through Jeppesen, a Boeing subsidiary. Prior to that, as vice president of Strategic Management for Commercial Airplanes, Carbary helped develop a competitive, market-driven business strategy for Commercial Airplanes.

Other positions at Boeing include serving as the Commercial Airplanes business director and deputy vice president for International Sales, in which she was responsible for leading sales directors and associated airplane services in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Australia. Carbary was also director of Boeing Corporate Investor Relations, representing the financial position of Boeing to the investment community.

Carbary joined Boeing as a senior financial analyst in the Corporate Credit Office. She has served as Commercial Airplanes director of Revenue Management, regional director of Marketing for Airline Financial Analysis and financial planner for the 777 program.

Carbary holds a master’s degree in business administration from Seattle University and bachelor’s degrees in finance and economics from Eastern Washington University.
