Lt. Col. Tim Schepper has flown B-1B Lancers for 22 years. He has spent 208 days in B-1 cockpits becoming the first pilot to surpass the 5,000 flight hour plateau.

The achievement did not go unrecognized. At Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota, Lt. Col. Schepper was welcomed back from a nine-month deployment that pushed him over the 5,000 hour mark by being properly hosed down by the Ellsworth fire department and his family.
