In its 169-year history, the U.S. Naval Academy has produced many great leaders. To highlight some of the Academy’s most illustrious alumni, which include former President Jimmy Carter, Super Bowl champion Roger Staubach and Paralympics gold medalist Brad Snyder. Boeing and the Academy produced a series of USNA alumni video profiles that were shown during home football games this year at Navy Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

“We are all very proud of the accomplishments of all of our graduates,” said John Rudder, USNA Foundation Corporate Relations Director. “And to be able to see select ones profiled across all walks of life, it’s very exciting. In a very subtle and graceful way, the Boeing clips really made a difference, and our fans appreciated it.”

The videos appeared on the scoreboard at Annapolis, and in two NFL stadiums where Navy played. The video series featured each alumnus sharing how their experiences at the Academy shaped them into the leaders they became. They include:

Billy Hurley III, Class of 2004, professional golfer on the PGA Tour

Wendy Lawrence, Class of 1981, retired astronaut/first female USNA graduate to enter outer space

Captain Chris Cassidy, Class of 1993, Former Navy SEAL/current astronaut with NASA

Lieutenant Bradley Snyder, Class of 2006, retired Navy lieutenant/2012 Paralympics Gold Medalist

Captain Tom Frosch, Class of 1992, Commanding officer of the U.S. Navy Blue Angels

Roger Staubach, Class of 1965, NCAA Heisman Trophy winner (’64)/NFL Super Bowl Champion (’71, ’78)/College and Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback

Jimmy Carter, Class of 1947, Former President of the United States (1977-1981)/Nobel Peace Prize winner (2002)
