Harvesting a fighter's jet blast ain’t just hot air

Industry and Air Force collaboration powers the effort to get fifth-generation jet fighters the energy they need

The next generation fighter hasn’t been developed yet, but that’s not stopping the U.S. Air Force from trying to fly it -- and finding a way to use all the heat produced by the aircrafts systems.

That’s why the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) turned to industry partners who can give jet fighters the competitive edge in the future battlefield and turn that heat into power.
