What categories of personal data are processed by this activity?

Sensitive Personally Identifiable Information:

  • Job Performance or Corrective Action Records

Personal Information:

Name (first, last, middle initial)/username, Aviation ID, BEMSID, business email address, license identifier and performance assessment ratings and narrative performance characterizations. These performance characterizations are considered sensitive personal information.

In addition, usage statistics such as IP addresses, referral pages, and date and time of application access are collected while users are engaged with the application.

 

What are the purposes of processing personal data in this activity? The personal information being collected (name, Aviation ID, license identifier BEMSID and performance ratings/assessments/characterizations) will be used in support of analytics intended to improve delivered training for pilots and to improve aircraft operational safety. In support of troubleshooting the process of uploading and processing files within PTA, the user's name and email address will be collected and saved to a SQL table located in Azure EEC for the purpose of communicating with the affected user. In addition, PTA will collect usage statistics such as IP addresses, referral pages, and date and time of application access to help us understand how visitors engage with our application and how we might improve it.
What is the legal basis for processing personal data in this activity? Processing is necessary for purposes of legitimate interests pursued by The Boeing Company: 
  • Complying with legal, law enforcement, court and regulatory bodies' requirements

  • Fulfilling it's corporate duties of due diligence

  • Improving the value and efficiency of its products

What other legal bases are used for processing personal data in this activity?  Processing is necessary for purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by the controller or by a third party, except where such interests are overridden by the interests or fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject which require protection of personal data. These interests include:

Employment data processing, product development and enhancement, and aviation safety.
 
Who are the recipients of the personal data in this activity? Recipients of this data will include The Boeing Company and Boeing Customer Airlines.

Personal data disclosure to other 3rd parties, beyond those identified above, will be accommodated only when required by law or allowed by governing contract/agreement. Such disclosure shall only be made with the implicit or explicit consent of the data subject. Such 3rd parties may include, but are not limited to:
•Regulators / National Aviation Authorities
•EASA

•Other External Organizations (e.g. IATA, ICAO, etc.)
In what countries will the personal data be processed? The personal information will be used by business processes based in countries where Boeing conducts business or PTA users are located.

The personal information will only be stored in the United States.

How long will the personal data be retained by this activity? PTA will retain personal data for a period of 3 years after supersession in accordance with Boeing Global Record Retention Schedule (GRRS) Record Series Code (RSC) ITS050 – Business Data Analytics.
What specific privacy rights may the individuals whose personal data is processed by this activity have, and how can they be exercised? Anyone may have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (https://boeing.com/privacy/authorities.html).

Depending upon the jurisdiction(s) in which you live or work, you may have the following additional rights:
