  • Employees
  • Contract Labor
  • Customers
  • Non-Boeing Individuals with BEMS IDs (consultants, purchased services, suppliers, etc.)

It is not intended to process the personal information of individuals in other categories.

What categories of personal data are processed by this activity?

Personal Information:

Users Name, Aviation ID, BEMSID, Work email
Note: The personal information described here are Non-Sensitive PII.

 

What are the purposes of processing personal data in this activity? The personal information will be used to authenticate and log onto eTDMS. The personal information here are BEMSID and Aviation ID which are both non-sensitive PII. eTDMS manages health of training devices, student sessions info, and a calendar of sessions. It enables loading of instruction modules and sends deficiency reports. eTDMS also provides regulatory reports and configuration management of devices. This tool at the Boeing Campuses that allow instructor pilots to review safety briefing and NOTAMS before starting their simulator session. It is also used to collect training records that might be needed at a later date if an incident occurs. Scheduling information for the simulator is fed from Integrated Planning Scheduling System (IPSS).
What is the legal basis for processing personal data in this activity? The data subject has given consent to the processing of his or her personal data for one or more specific purposes.
How may consent be withdrawn?

If not offered as a self-service capability within the "Electronic Training Device Management System (eTDMS)" data processing activity or otherwise addressed in an answer here, consent may be withdrawn using https://boeing.com/privacy/rightsexerciseportal.

Is the data subject (the person to whom the data relates) required to provide personal information for this processing activity, and what would be the possible consequences of failing to do so? Provision of personal information for this processing activity is not required.  If the user does not present their Aviation ID or does not have an Aviation ID, they will not be able to log onto eTDMS. However, if the user is not setup with an Aviation ID or does not remember their password, an onsite Boeing employee will log them onto the Simulator using the Boeing employees credentials and then this is recorded in eTDMS for tracking purposes.
Who are the recipients of the personal data in this activity? There are no recipients of this personal information (BEMSID and Aviation ID). It is stored in the eTDMS database to allow for user log on (authentication).
In what countries will the personal data be processed? The personal information (BEMSID and Aviation ID) can be used by business processes from anywhere in the world, as the users of eTDMS are global and this application can be access from either a Boeing campus or individually from any where there is an internet connection.

The personal information will be stored in the eTDMS database which is hosted in the Boeing approved Azure cloud, which should be located in the United States.

How long will the personal data be retained by this activity? The users personal data (BEMSID and Aviation ID) is retained until the user or their agent notifies us that a user account is no longer needed. Or during the annual Access Validation it is deemed the user account is no longer needed.
What specific privacy rights may the individuals whose personal data is processed by this activity have, and how can they be exercised? Anyone may have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (https://boeing.com/privacy/authorities.html).

Depending upon the jurisdiction(s) in which you live or work, you may have the following additional rights:

  • to request access to and rectification or erasure of personal data or restriction of processing
  • to object to processing
  • to data portability
  • to withdraw consent
