We have established privacy and security measures both internally and (where applicable) in our relations with third parties to safeguard personal information in our data processing activities.

What are the purposes of processing personal data in this activity? The personal information collected via the Interest Form will be used to identify applicants for the Security Guardians program. The personal information collected via the Confidence Assessments - including the Pre-Program, Post-Program, and Weekly Knowledge and Confidence Assessments - will be used to track the progress of program participants. The personal information collected via the Feedback Form will be used to associate feedback with a program participant and allow the Security Guardians Core Team to ask further questions and request clarification. The Feedback Form is anonymous unless a program participant voluntarily provides a BEMSID in the optional field.
What is the legal basis for processing personal data in this activity? Processing is necessary for purposes of legitimate interests pursued by The Boeing Company: 
  • Security Guardians Program

Is the data subject (the person to whom the data relates) required to provide personal information for this processing activity, and what would be the possible consequences of failing to do so? Provision of personal information for this processing activity is not required.  Failure to provide the personal information on the Interest Form will result in not being considered for the program. Failure to provide the personal information on the Knowledge and Confidence Assessments, Pre-Program Confidence Assessment, and Post-Program Confidence Assessment could result in the non-graduation of the program participant. Failure to provide the personal information on the Feedback Form will have no impact on the person providing the feedback.
Who are the recipients of the personal data in this activity? The recipients of the personal information in this activity are the program's sponsoring manager and leadership team. All of the aforementioned persons are Boeing employees.
In what countries will the personal data be processed? The personal information will be used by business processes based in the United States and the United Kingdom.

The personal information will only be stored in the United States.

How long will the personal data be retained by this activity? Personal data (i.e. Name & BEMSID) collected via the Interest Form shall be retained for the duration of one (1) year from the start date of the cohort for which the application was initially submitted. Applicants who are not selected for the specific cohort for which they applied may be selected for future cohort; however, any applicant not selected may request their data be removed at any time. Persons enrolled in the program may have their data removed upon completing the program. Personal data (i.e. BEMSID) collected via the Pre-Program and Weekly Knowledge and Confidence Assessments shall be retained for the duration of the program plus an additional three (3) months thereafter. At the conclusion of the aforementioned period, the data shall be anonymized and retained. Personal data collected via the Post-Program Confidence Assessment shall be retained for three (3) months. At the conclusion of the aforementioned period, confidence data shall be anonymized and retained. Personal data (i.e. BEMSID) collected via the Feedback Form shall be retained for the duration of the program plus an additional one (1) month thereafter. At the conclusion of the aforementioned period, feedback data shall be anonymized and retained. Feedback data is anonymous unless a BEMSID is provided by an enrollee in the optional field.
What specific privacy rights may the individuals whose personal data is processed by this activity have, and how can they be exercised? Anyone may have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (https://boeing.com/privacy/authorities.html).

Depending upon the jurisdiction(s) in which you live or work, you may have the following additional rights:

  • to request access to and rectification or erasure of personal data or restriction of processing
  • to object to processing
  • to data portability
  • to not be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing which produces legal effects concerning you or similarly affects you
