Lovitt Technologies Australia has a very strong customer focus and a well-tuned understanding of our abilities. In identifying our unique skillset as a business and individually, we celebrate and engage our experts on what they do best. This results in high-level customer satisfaction that ultimately drives the success of our business and satisfaction within our team. Our mission is to remain a leader in producing complex 5-Axis details and assemblies for aircraft programs by using proven technologies and equipment. We see our future in embracing both subtractive and additive machining technologies and exotic materials to produce monolithic, complex aircraft structural components and assemblies.

Q: How did your company get started or what inspired you to start your business?

A: Lovitt Technologies Australia began in 1947 to support the automotive industry. We have continually evolved since and in the 2000’s moved entirely into the defence and aerospace industry, ultimately surviving the decline of the automotive industry in Australia. This reinforced the importance of innovating and embracing change within our business, and this has become embedded in our culture. We take a lot of pride in that.

Q: What Boeing products are associated with your company?

A: Lovitt Technologies Australia is a sophisticated build-to-print supplier of complex 5-Axis machined details and assemblies for defence and commercial aircraft production programs. We provide aircraft aerostructure components and assemblies for commercial aircraft including 737, 747, 777 and 787, and defence aircraft including F-15, CH-47 Chinook, V-22 Osprey, P-8 Poseidon, F/A-18 Super Hornet and E-7A Wedgetail.

Q: What has been the proudest moment in your company’s history?

A: Our people are the key to our success. We empower our staff to make decisions as if it was their own company. Having a happy and engaged team drives great work and great quality, and this was evident especially throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. With all the challenges that this period raised, our team were able to consistently maintain our near perfect delivery and quality metrics.

Q: How do you incorporate technology and innovation into your company?

A: We know that if we aren’t changing we aren’t innovating. We encourage the embrace of new technologies, knowing that innovation will allow us to further excel in delivering complex products, anywhere, on time, all the time.

Q: Why is it important to be considered a small, diverse business or to champion diversity on your team?

A: We value our strong community ties and as a business we really reflect our diverse local community. Diversity is so important for our success as it introduces a variety of different perspectives, skills and talents. Diversity ultimately increases creativity and innovation and this benefits our business, our products and importantly our customers. We are so proud to promote and support diversity and will continue to champion it into the future.

Q: What’s an interesting fact about the company?

A: We are enormously proud of our team and all that we have been able to achieve and do together. Apart from owning Australia’s only Boeing-approved processing facility, we are also the largest privately-owned small to medium enterprise making fly away aircraft components for Boeing in Australia. Our team are what enables us able to do this, making our position in the industry particularly unique when compared to other suppliers.

Q: Anything else you want to spotlight about the company?

A: We have a new dedicated assembly plant that perfectly complements our modern manufacturing facility. This combination sets our business apart from the rest and allows us to be a leading supplier for Boeing in Australia.
