Celebrating more than a century of growth in Puget Sound
Welcome to the Boeing in Washington website. The Boeing Company took root in Washington state in 1916 and during the more than 100 years since, we have grown to become the world’s largest aerospace company and the largest exporter in the United States. We owe this success in no small part to the talent and community support of people in Washington state—thank you!
Today, Boeing is the largest private employer in Washington. Currently, nearly half of Boeing’s global workforce is located here in the state. Our dedication to this region is clear: we are building all models of the single-aisle 737 MAX—with orders for approximately 4,800 airplanes—here in Puget Sound, as well as the revolutionary composite wing of the 777X. We are also performing final assembly of the 777X in Puget Sound.
While our factories and office buildings are buzzing with activity, we are also keenly focused on improving the communities where our employees live and work. This website is designed to share our commitment to this state, our local environment and the good work being done by our hundreds of partners in the local communities around us.
