Boeing joins the NHL’s newest team, the Seattle Kraken and the world’s first net Zero Carbon certified arena in the world, Climate Pledge Arena, in a partnership focused on environmental stewardship in Washington state. Together, the three will focus on environmental initiatives that include stormwater management, to reduce pollution and improve water quality.

“The Boeing story starts with our people and our people care about our planet. Together we are investing in the environment in Washington state where so many of our employees live and work,” said Stan Deal, President and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes. “We are thrilled to find that same kind of environmental stewardship with Climate Pledge Arena and the Kraken.”

Over the past five years, Boeing has provided more than $10 million to environmental organizations in Washington to support a healthier Puget Sound and environmental education for local students.

"We are honored to welcome Washington-born Boeing to the Seattle Kraken family," said Tod Leiweke, CEO of the Seattle Kraken. "Boeing is focused on a sustainable future and is deeply invested in the environmental stewardship of the Puget Sound, which is a perfect match for the Kraken and Climate Pledge Arena.”

As a technology and innovation leader, Boeing is continually improving the environmental performance of its products and services to reduce fuel use, carbon emissions and the aviation industry’s environmental footprint.

Boeing will be represented throughout Climate Pledge Arena and plans to work with the team to expand initiatives and education about storm water and the health of the Puget Sound.
