Safety Care Packages provided to more than 60 academic partner programs
Boeing shares safety kits with local students and instructors

Boeing’s Workforce Development team recently prepared Safety Care Packages for instructors at 40 Core Plus Aerospace partner high schools and more than 20 community/technical college programs across Washington state. Instructors received an assortment of safety goggles and earplugs for their classrooms and Boeing safety posters and Boeing-branded apparel to use in promoting strong safety practices among their students.
“The goal of the Safety Care Packages is to provide instructors at partner high schools, skills centers and community/technical colleges with materials and equipment to help promote safety in their classrooms and encourage conversations with students about best practices related to safety,” said Michelle Burreson, Boeing Workforce Development leader.
The kits were well received. According to Jeff Kurbis, an instructor at Franklin Pierce High School, “Safety is something that Boeing has made a focus on in the Core Plus Aerospace Curriculum. With this kind of industry standard to point to, students know it’s not just talk — it needs to be part of who they are if they want to be part of the manufacturing workforce.”
