Boeing and its teammates through the Employees Community Fund (ECF) donated a total of $175,000 to FareStart recently to expand community meals and support student success initiatives.

  • “This support helps us reach more people and change lives,” said Patrick D’Amelio, FareStart CEO.

Why it matters: FareStart provides job training and self-empowerment skills to individuals experiencing homelessness or poverty, including through its social enterprise businesses that serve as on-the-job classrooms for students while nourishing the community.

Boeing's support for organizations like FareStart underscores the company's commitment to having a positive impact in teammates' communities.

Delivering change: The ECF contributed $50,000 for a new delivery van, increasing meal deliveries to those facing food insecurity. The Boeing Company's $125,000 donation will boost student enrollment and retention.

Building community: FareStart unveiled the new delivery van at a recent Guest Chef Night, where Chef Logan Cox of Homer restaurant in Seattle worked with FareStart students to prepare a three-course meal served by Boeing volunteers. All funds raised at the event support FareStart’s training programs.

“For decades, FareStart has thrived on the enduring partnership with Boeing,” said Patrick D’Amelio. “Their unwavering support has been instrumental in centering our students and empowering those seeking employment to change their life trajectory. The FareStart event epitomizes this collaboration, showcasing how our joint efforts can nourish both people and potential. We are incredibly grateful for Boeing’s continuous commitment to creating lasting impact and fostering opportunity."
