X-37B collection
Designed to celebrate boundary-pushing missions and milestones
The Boeing-built X-37B is an uncrewed, autonomous spaceplane designed for advanced experimentation and technology testing. By returning hardware after each mission, it enables learning under real conditions and compresses the time from concept to dependable capability for our U.S. government partners.
The X-37B has completed seven successful missions, logging over 1.3 billion miles (2.1 billion kilometers) and spending thousands of days in space as of completion of OTV-7 in March 2025. The spaceplane launched on its eighth mission in August 2025. Each mission adds new capabilities and technology tests, making the X-37B a critical platform for advancing space technology.
The X-37B is upgraded with state-of-the-art technologies after each mission to provide exceptional performance and durability. Its modular design allows for a wide range of experiments and missions, making it a versatile and valuable asset in space experimentation. The X-37B’s autonomous reentry capability ensures safe and reliable returns, enabling quick refurbish, reprocess and refly cycles. This adaptability supports a variety of scientific and technological advancements, contributing to the future of space exploration.
