Since 2007, Boeing has proudly stood at the 50-yard line of Washington’s greatest football rivalry—the Boeing Apple Cup—straddling UW Husky purple and WSU Cougar crimson. At the 117th matchup in Pullman on Sept. 20, Boeing hosted 250 employees and their families, creating unforgettable memories rooted in tradition and pride.

Katelynn Rose, operations procurement agent, BCA supply chain, based in Auburn, was among those in attendance. For Rose and her family, it was more than just a game.

“It was my son’s dream to go to a Huskies game,” Rose said. “He loves the Huskies and even has a Huskies-themed bedroom.” Thanks to Boeing’s continued sponsorship and support, that dream came true in a way they say they’ll never forget.

Boeing’s presence at the game extended well beyond the stands. Alumni executives joined in the coin toss, halftime interviews, and trophy presentation, representing Boeing’s deep ties to both universities.

“We have more employees in Washington than anywhere else in the world, and thousands of those teammates are UW and WSU graduates, just like I am,” shared Steven Chisholm, vice president and chief engineer for Boeing mechanical and structural engineering. “Our future in Washington is very bright, and this great rivalry is one way we invest in that future.”

Craig Bomben, vice president and chief pilot for product and aircraft development, expressed his pride in Team Boeing, saying, “We do cool things. The work we do changes the world every day and people want to be a part of that.”

For employees like Rose, Boeing’s investment in their people and communities is personal.

“I love that I work for a company that gives back to their employees and communities. One Christmas when I was a child, Boeing employees’ generosity touched my life when they adopted my family through Boeing’s Spirit of the Holidays drive. Over 30 years later, Boeing now provides special opportunities to my kids.”

Rose’s advice to fellow employees? “Get involved and never pass up opportunities to make memories.”

The Boeing Apple Cup is one opportunity many employees don’t want to miss; a day when colleagues are also fans making memories together.
