The Employees Community Fund of Boeing (ECF) Puget Sound Chapter announced more than $1.4 million in grants to 29 nonprofit organizations in its first round of funding for 2026.
Why it matters: The grants will help community partners buy equipment, improve facilities and better serve people in need across the region.
Driving the news: These grants, which are funded entirely by employee donations, will help Puget Sound community partners with improvements such as building upgrades, new equipment and vehicles. The funds will directly benefit thousands of children, families and individuals across the region.

Grant highlights:
- The largest 2026 grant was $250,000 to Mary’s Place Seattle to help fund a roof on the new shelter building in Burien. This new location will provide emergency shelter, affordable housing and integrated services for families facing housing instability.
- Pike Market Senior Center Food Bank serves free breakfast and lunch seven days a week to more than 1,500 low-income and homeless seniors. The $146,000 grant will replace a failing walk-in cooler and freezer.
- Summit Assistance Dogs provides highly trained mobility service dogs at no cost to individuals living with physical disabilities. The $48,948 grant will purchase a cargo van to efficiently transport multiple dogs to training locations and necessary veterinary care.
- Veteran Rites provides wilderness experiences for veterans to promote their healing and help reduce the risk of suicide. The $48,606 grant will help purchase an off-road track wheelchair, tents for these experiences, and a trailer for transportation and storage of wilderness equipment.
