Boeing’s support of STEM students flies high over Renton
Boeing partners with the Renton Schools Foundation to foster student success in math.

Driven by a deep commitment to empowering young minds and building a stronger community, Boeing is taking bold steps to ensure Renton students have the math skills they need to succeed in life and lead in tomorrow's world.
On Sept. 25, Boeing presented the Renton Schools Foundation with a $250,000 grant aimed at enhancing mathematics education for students across elementary, middle, and high schools in the Renton School District. This initiative aligns with Boeing's commitment to equipping the next generation with essential 21st-century skills, ensuring that students are well-prepared for future opportunities.
Boeing has contributed over $1 million to enhance learning and teaching in the Renton School District through various initiatives, including grants, sponsorships, and employee contributions.
The partnership between Boeing and the Renton Schools Foundation is designed to create a lasting impact on the lives of students in the Renton School District, fostering a love for math and encouraging academic excellence.
To celebrate Boeing’s support, the Renton Schools Foundation created a billboard displaying five Renton students holding Boeing model airplanes in the sky.

Filled with pride and hope for the future, Marquinta Obomanu reflected on seeing her daughter, Savannah Obomanu, featured on the billboard.
“I’m thrilled for her to have this opportunity—but even more meaningful is seeing the representation of girls of color in STEM, especially those with a passion for aerospace. As her mom, being part of this effort is very special.”
Boeing recognizes the critical role math skills play in shaping the future workforce of Washington.
“By supporting strong math education, we’re investing in the success of Renton students today and also the strength of Washington’s economy tomorrow,” said Gina Breukelman, senior manager for Boeing Global Engagement.
Chris Cronas, Principal at Renton School District’s Sartori Elementary School, emphasized the vital role strong math skills play in preparing students for lifelong success.
- “Based on the direction we’re going technologically, strong mathematical skills are going to provide these students with more opportunities in the future to engage in whatever work they want, without compromising opportunities. Our responsibility is to ensure these students have those foundational math skills to ultimately support their community, family, and themselves. Boeing’s partnership in this imperative effort is enormous.”
Boeing’s commitment to our future workforce not only enriches the educational landscape but also paves the way for a bright future for students in Renton.
