Boeing highlights new MQ-28 partnerships with Farnborough air show debut

Boeing highlighted the MQ-28 Ghost Bat’s debut at the Farnborough International Airshow announcing partnerships that support the aircraft’s current capability and future development.

Why it matters: Interest is growing worldwide in Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA), and Boeing is enhancing capabilities and advancing the MQ-28 global team, showcasing three international partners.  

• Hensoldt will bring sensor systems integration expertise to the German industry team which was announced at ILA Berlin Air Show.
• Eaton will develop the specialized ejector system for the internal payload of the advanced capability configuration.
• Leonardo is providing an advanced infrared search and track system fitted to the MQ-28’s modular nose.

Zoom in: The MQ-28 is designed to team with manned systems and uses advanced autonomy and mission systems to extend the reach, resilience, flexibility and effectiveness of air combat operations. 

• Boeing says the Australian-developed MQ-28 is the world’s most mature CCA capability.
• The aircraft recently became the first and only CCA to participate with joint and coalition aircraft in the multinational effort known as Exercise Valiant Shield.
