Teammates from Boeing won the gold medal at the 2026 Aerospace Summer Games (ASG) competition this July.

With nearly 900 Boeing and Millennium Space Systems (MSS) teammates in attendance – including their friends and family – the team finished top five in nine of the total 13 competitions, reaching the highest score out of nearly 70 teams from aerospace and defense companies.

“Boeing's presence is a powerhouse of innovation and collaboration,” said Soyeon Jung, a Customer Support teammate who supports the Boeing site in Seal Beach, California. “This regionwide effort exemplifies how our combined talents and dedication drive extraordinary results, reinforcing our leadership in aerospace."

Why it matters: Boeing founded the Aerospace Summer Games in 2002 as a casual beach sports initiative to encourage networking within the aerospace and defense industry. The Games developed into one of the largest, most-attended aerospace-related events in the United States, hosting several athletic competitions including golf, Ultimate Frisbee, volleyball, basketball and pickleball.

“This was my first year participating with ASG,” said Andrew Ly, a current Boeing high school intern supporting the company’s El Segundo, California site. “Honestly, I don't know how to explain how fun this day was. To hear about it verbally was one thing, but to truly experience it through the games and networking is a memory I won’t forget.”

Values in action: Several teammates volunteered their time setting up, cleaning up and refereeing – with some hosting poster-making and temporary tattoo stations, a first for both activities and notably a hit for the attendees.

“We rocked the competition,” said Ashley Munoz, a member of the MSS team that finished among the top 20 teams in the games. “More than that, our teammates set the standard for collaboration and support, visible by those who selflessly helped throughout the event.”

Next steps: Following the Aerospace Summer Games win, Boeing is responsible for hosting next year’s event.
