Carla Reynolds

I have always been drawn to understanding how things work at a deep level. When I was young, that meant taking things apart and rebuilding them just to see how they functioned. In college, it shifted into something more abstract. Through physical chemistry, I learned how to take apart the world mathematically. I could break a phenomenon into its fundamentals, rebuild it with intuition and first principles, and see how the pieces fit together. I loved how that kind of fundamental understanding made it possible to describe system-level behavior. That way of thinking has stayed with me ever since.

What I love most about my work is moving fluidly between the deepest technical details and the full system they belong to. Making sense of complexity, and helping others see it clearly, is where I find the most meaning. I also value the teams I get to work with. I am constantly learning and growing while enabling others to do the same and take on challenging problems with confidence.

I am deeply honored to be a part of the Boeing Technical Fellowship. These are the people who taught me what technical leadership looks like, who challenged me, and who shaped the way I think. I am proud to join them, and I feel a real responsibility to help grow the next generation of deep technical talent.

What excites me most about Boeing is our ability to influence industrywide direction. We can partner with world-class researchers who are pushing the boundaries of science and bring them into the real challenges we face. That connection, from fundamental understanding to real-world impact, allows us to shape the future of our field in a meaningful way.
